Arachne Celluloid Photo Album

Incredible 19th-century celluloid photo album featuring the goddess Arachne spinning her web! Photo albums of this era featuring spiderwebs on their covers are much sought after and I was thrilled to find this one.

The colors are muted and stunning, with raised details of roses, blossoms, and scrollwork in each corner. This album would be beautiful on display and the interior is in great shape too, if you’d like to put it to use!

See photos for condition - Most of the album pages are in good condition with some occasional tears or wear. 

The front cover is in near-perfect condition; there is chipping to the top right corner (see photos). Back cover has a small crack and some corner bumping. The clasp works perfectly! Pages have gilt edges and the album’s velvet spine is in great condition. 

Contains 12 frame pages; measures 10 1/2“ by 8 1/4“.
