19th-Century Scrapbook Herbarium
This charming 19th-century herbarium is compiled in a beautiful embossed scrapbook, and includes a collection of both flower specimens and seaweeds, making it rather unique! The specimens are not labeled, and it seems that it was a fun creative endeavor rather than a scientific one.
Gently priced due to ongoing deterioration. Some of the specimens have not survived the test of time and are in very poor condition, while others are pretty well preserved and secure. Selling as-is! I love the imprints that some of the plants have made on the opposite pages.
The scrapbook itself is in good condition with a lean to the spine. The cover is gorgeous. There are 17 specimens in total, with about 2/3 of the scrapbook pages left blank.
