Flower Families and Ancestors by Clements & Clements.
Published in 1928 by H.W. Wilson Company, New York.
Edith Clements was an American botanist and pioneer of plant ecology. You might be familiar with Edith Clement's other titles, Flowers of Mountain and Plain and Flowers of Coast and Sierra. This title is more scarce, co-written with her husband, botanist Frederic Clements.
This book was written in the hope of making the study of flowering plants more accessible to beginners of all ages. It explores identification, classification, pollination, and evolution of flowering plant families.
Very good condition; stunning cover with columbines and gilt lettering. Light sun fading and light shelf wear to spine and corners. Binding is weakened/exposed in one place, but overall good. Pages are very clean. Inscription inside front cover.
