Lathyrus - Handmade Coptic Sketchbook
Lathyrus - A swirling tangle of purple sweet peas against hanging pomegranates.
I've recently become completely obsessed with bookbinding, and I'm so excited to share this small collection of handmade sketchbooks made with antique re-purposed covers - each one features a botanical-inspired Art Nouveau design.
This particular journal/sketchbook is bound with black waxed linen for contrast, stitched over elegant purple velvet tapes. For the end papers, I selected a portion of handmade marbled paper which mimics the swirling cover.
The sketchbook is filled with 72 pages of individually hand-torn, 90 lb drawing paper. The coptic binding allows the book to lay completely flat.
Perfect for writing, drawing and possibly light watercolor. I hope you'll create something you can treasure.
Measures 7 3/8" x 4 7/8".
